About Neurofeedback
How does neurofeedback with the Muse 2 work?
The Muse 2 is a lightweight, wearable EEG (electroencephalogram) headband that tracks your brainwaves, heart rate, breathing, and posture. During a neurofeedback session, you'll use the device in real time while listening to soundscapes that respond to your mental activity.
What is neurofeedback?
Neurofeedback uses real-time measurements of your brain’s activity to help you learn how to self-regulate (manage stress and emotions in your nervous system). By observing your brainwave patterns and receiving gentle, immediate feedback in the form of audio cues on the Muse 2 device, your brain learns to shift into healthier, more balanced or calm states—just like exercising a muscle.
This training taps into your brain’s natural neuroplasticity (the brain’s ability to change over time), reinforcing calm, focus, and emotional regulation. Over time, neurofeedback can help reduce symptoms of anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, and more.
Why add neurofeedback to traditional therapy?
Neurofeedback does not replace talk therapy—it enhances it. While therapy can help you understand your thoughts and emotions, physical sensations associated with emotion, and emotional patterns of activation, neurofeedback works directly with your brain's physiology. When combined, they create a synergistic path toward lasting emotional wellness.
Benefits of neurofeedback:
Improved attention and focus
Better stress management
Reduced anxiety and mood swings
Deeper self-awareness and mindfulness
More efficient progress in therapy sessions

For example, when your mind becomes distracted or agitated, the audio environment becomes louder or more chaotic—alerting you to re-center your attention. When your brain returns to a calm, focused state, the sound quiets. This immediate feedback and practice helps you train your brain to return to and sustain these balanced states more easily in response to stress and triggers in daily life.
Compassionate support for mental, emotional, and spiritual recovery and growth.
